Open House 2014
Thank you to everyone that made it out to Open House Tuesday! We had a wonderful turnout and it makes me so excited to think about the exciting things this year is going to bring. I know not everyone was able to attend or had to go to other classrooms so I wanted to share the quick slideshow I made of the children as part of my presentation. Your children have all become like my own and I am so blessed to get to be their teacher for the next 2 years. We have already become such a tight little family in our classroom and I am so excited for this journey with them AND you. Thank you for putting your trust in me as your child's teacher.
Center Rotations....here we go!
Last week we really got rolling in our center rotations! The students are assigned a center "group" and a name (Lions, Giraffes, Zebras, etc). We have 6 rotations with 3-4 students in each group for about 30 minutes RIGHT NOW. They have a new center to go to each day and some centers are done independently and some are teacher led. After STAR assessments next week I will be pulling my small group and working on reading instruction but right now we've been focused on working on phonics and math skills in our groups. The children LOVE centers and are working so well cooperatively with their partners!

Math Partners are in Full Swing!
This week we got into our Math Workshop model and the children did awesome with it! They were paired up with their Math Buddy and after a whole group mini lesson they were sent to explore with their partners. We are learning about sorting and comparing items. We have sorted many different things...our shoes, math manipulatives and shapes. Here are some pics of us working with our "Ketchup and Mustard" partners!
